Nerve Block for Knee Replacement

Adductor Canal Block

An Adductor Canal Block is a newer nerve block technique that is used for pain management after surgeries such as a total knee replacement. We use ultrasound to place local anesthetic next to the saphenous nerve, which provides pain sensation to the knee, to numb the nerve and reduce the pain transmission through the nerve to the brain.
